Minecraft has spun off in to something really amazing, I don’t think anyone could have predicted that a base game about building with blocks could go so far. Recently, Telltale Games has added to that franchise with their signature adventure based games style with “Minecraft: Story Mode”. In Telltale’s signature style, this has been a long episodic release comprising a total of 8 episodes. Now, you can get all 8 in on single disk experience.

So, what’s Story Mode?

The new Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure disc includes all 8 episodes in the season in one place for the first time: 5 episodes from the original season pass, plus the 3 episodes from the ‘Adventure Pass’ add-on series. It’s available on disc for US$29.99 or equivalent for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 at retailers in North America today; and at retailers in Europe starting October 28th. Also. The disc will also be coming to PC early next month.

Minecraft has never really had much of a story, so Telltale is really free to show their creative side in this series. In this game, playing as either a male or female hero named Jesse, you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

The complete version also continues beyond the original season with three Adventure Pass episodes. These chronicling the further journeys of Jesse and friends lost in a hall of portals leading from one world to the next. The main feature of these is trying to find your way home. Together, the three form a cohesive narrative.

Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure is rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence and Mild Language by the ESRB. The series is published by Telltale Games in partnership with Mojang, and is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in the US.
