Call of Cthulhu, a video game adaption of Chaosium’s pen and paper RPG, is releasing new images today.  Today we’re getting a look at Darkwater Island, the setting for this Call of Cthulhu game.

What is Call of Cthulhu?

The game is a murder mystery.  You play the part of war veteran turned private detective, Edward Pierce.  The game starts in Boston in the 1920s, when you are called to solve the mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins and her family. During your investigation you end up neck deep in the paranormal.  Can you believe your eyes? Or is your imagination getting away with you?

A Dark place in a Dark world

Call of Cthulhu has fully embraced its roots as a Lovecraft work. Built on the idea that mankind is irrelevant in a universe that could care less, which is also filled with insane horrors.  You will be pushed to discover the horrible truth about Darkwater Island, while balancing on the brink of insanity. It is then that you uncover the islands link to the Cthulhu Mythos. As your investigation leads you deeper you’ll enter the sphere of the Great Dreamer, where you will learn to question everything you see.  Can you manage the thin path between truth and insanity?
