Ark Winter Wonderland 2 Update
Christmas comes to Ark! As of yesterday Ark: Survival Evolved launched the Winter Wonderland update for Steam, Xbox, and PS4. If you were around last year you may remember Raptor Claus, well he’s back. Raptor Claus will be dropping presents for those both naughty and nice. From normal loot, to coal, and a few new goodies, the goodies can be used to craft new holiday-themed items. We’ve also been told that Studio Wildcard is announcing that the PC version of the game will get a very special holiday surprise items.
We’re also getting the v253 update today for Steam players only. This update gives us two new underwater caves and five new creatures. Among the new creatures are: Cnidaria, Troodon, Tusoteuthis, Pegomastax, and the Therizinosaurus. Wow, there’s a mouth full!
It’s a giant Jellyfish! The Cnidaria is not a tamable creature, nor can it be trained. There usefulness comes from their bioluminescence and the special biotoxin that they drop. The biotoxin can be used to make special shocking torpor darts, which are twice as powerful than the normal ones. Though one might be able to put them in pools around there base as a trap for enemies.
This is a new one folks! You don’t tame it, you earn its loyalty! The Troodon is a highly intellegent creature, which is very social in nature and loves to hunt. They are a smaller relative of the island’s Raptors. Just don’t think that that means they’re any less dangerous.
This little guy is the epitome of the bottom of the food chain. Pegomastax is a pretty harmless herbivore that actually prefers the solitary life. He’s a little odd looking with his beak, tusks, and feathers but he’s a great scavenger! They gather huge quantities of seeds and berries, as well as gathering rare flowers, mushrooms, and other ingredients.
It’s not just any giant squid. It’s a vampire giant squid! They may be slow, but don’t underestimate this squid. He grabs anyone who dares get too close with his tentacles. Once he has you in his grip he’ll crush you, then syphon out your blood. He can be tamed though, and once tamed you can extract his ink, which contains oils that can be processed into fuel.
The Therizinosaurus is built like a T-Rex, but is an herbivore and totally tamable. He’s certainly a funny looking dude, but those claws are great for harvesting. Or just shredding your enemies. In the wild they’re pretty passive.
The update brings a fair amount of new material. Personally I’m ready to go check it out myself. (I can’t wait to see this Raptor Claus guy.) We are still waiting for that tech update, so we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more about when that’s coming out. Anyway, what do you guys think of the new content? Let us know in the comments bellow.
