Jotun was one of my favorite games of 2015. Its beautiful hand drawn backgrounds, and souls style approach to game play sucked me and kept me playing. Now the same developers have given birth to Sundered, another  visually stunning masterpiece, and this time its a Metrodivanaia. Be still my beating heart, I literally can not wait for this game.

So there you go, look at that art, those moves, and that map. Thunder Lotus Games has more than delivered on the promise from their kickstarter, and I can not wait to give this game a try. You can pre-order the game now on Steam!

From the trailer we get to see some of the games new mechanics like teleporters, and various abilities. I particularly liked the look of the giant bosses, which were a mainstay of Jotun.

Sundered is a horrifying fight for survival and sanity,” reads the game’s description. “It is a replayable metroidvania where you resist or embrace ancient eldritch powers. You play Eshe, a wanderer in a ruined world, trapped in ever-changing caverns filled with hordes of terrifying enemies. Harness the power of corrupted relics to defeat gigantic bosses, at the cost of your humanity. Resist or embrace.”

Key Features:

  • Beautiful hand-drawn art

  • Dynamic encounters against hordes of enemies
