Madefire gets DC, popular comic reader for mobile announces partnership with DC comics
If you like me are a devoted comics reader you will know that in recent years DC comics has had a bit of an identity crisis. Between its multiple reboots that arent reboots, and its eventual settling on its Rebirth line just a short two years after the new 52, its been a rough time. DC has also lagged behind marvel in digital distribution, where marvel has created its own online, ondemand application for reading, DC has relied on paper sales and digital partnerships. One such partnership is Madefire. Madefire is the most popular reader on both android and IOS, by a fairly large margin, and today DC annoucned that they will be bringing a HUGE amount of their catalog to the platform.
Madefire, the award-winning standard in digital comics and innovator of the unique Motion Book format, announced an extensive line-up of new and back list DC titles will be available on the Madefire App, starting today.
Thousands of titles featuring the world’s greatest Super Heroes from DC’s beloved back catalogue will soon be available on the Madefire App, along with DC’s highly-anticipated new releases starting with today’s DARK NIGHTS: METAL #1. With these expansive additions, the Madefire platform is a one-stop destination for DC fans everywhere!
Comprising the single biggest update of new content since the platform launched, Madefire will host more than 80,000 comics and Motion Books by 2018. Whether catching up with forgotten classics or simply discovering new Super Heroes and Super-Villains, the DC catalogue has something for everyone with amazing adventures only a click away.
Both DC and Madefire were enthusiastic about the decision to bring the books to the platform.
Jim lee, a publisher at DC said today:
“As a leader and innovator in the digital comics space Madefire has been a great partner to DC and I’m pleased this expansion will bring our extensive line-up to an even broader audience. Now, for the first time, exciting DC titles like DARK NIGHTS: METAL will be available to Windows, Apple TV, and Android TV digital readers – all via the Madefire App.”
Madefire CEO and Motion Book creator, Ben Wolstenholme said today:
“DC is a world leader in comic book entertainment and we’re incredibly excited to bring their legendary catalogue of titles to our platform, a single digital destination for the entire DC experience is one thing, but we believe our five-star rated, multi-award winning platform will deliver a digital experience that does justice to the DC brand. Madefire is renowned for putting the reader first, never drawing our customers away from their content and providing a notably superior experience to other digital services.”
