Square Enix Reveals LEFT ALIVE
I guess it must be Wednesday, because I have another surival, horror, shooter game in my inbox. This one has one of the biggest names in gaming behind it, Square Enix, and seems to have a distinctly MECHA feel too. With the announcement naming not one but two directors with previous MECHA experince (both Gundam and Armored Core are represented) as the team thats bringing the game together. So lets take a look at this trailer and see what we have.
The answer? Not much, but none the less, SQUARE ENIX today revealed LEFT ALIVE ™, a brand-new survival action shooter coming to the PlayStation4 computer entertainment system and STEAM in 2018.
Veteran developers Toshifumi Nabeshima (director, Armored Core series), Yoji Shinkawa (character designer, METAL GEAR series), and Takayuki Yanase (mech designer, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Xenoblade Chronicles X) join forces to create LEFT ALIVE’s dark and gritty world.
Ao thats all we know for now, TGS is taking place this weekend and that Squares home territory so I expect we will get some more details then. But if I had to guess (and I will) this is going to be set in the future feature a lot of robots, and probably end with a twist that puts Metal Gear to shame. No matter what it is, I have to wonder if audiences have grown tired of this current survival game craze, and if even a name like Square can push it hard enough to make one of them mainstream. I guess we will find out in time!
