Tokyo Ghoul is one of those Anime that ran for a just two seasons and still managed to captivate audiences. Its original story and strong character development made for a manga adaptation that fans loved. Now the sequel is getting an anime. Tokyo Ghoul:re will be getting its own anime starting this April.

From our friends at Anime New Network:

“This year’s 12th issue of Shueisha‘s Weekly Young Jump magazine is revealing on Thursday that the television anime adaptation of Sui Ishida‘s Tokyo Ghoul:re manga will premiere on April 3. The anime will air on Tokyo MXstarting at 11:00 p.m. before airing later that evening on Sun TVTV Aichi, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and BS11.”

Thats awesome! Fans of the new manga will no doubt excited to hear that Odahiro Watanabe  is replacing Shuhei Morita as director for the anime at Pierrot. Pierrot+ is also going assist with production so you know it will be a pretty show. The scripts will be written by Tokyo Ghoul veteran Chuji Mikasano, who will I hope provide a good sense of continuity. Check out the PV and see if this is a show you need to add to your Spring watch list!
