Assault Spy is one of those games that I was initially worried was headed to early access hell. NIS luckily are proving me wrong. Their heavily styled action fighter is getting a regular update just a few months in to early access. Not just a new character, but also new features, and a new practice mode are all coming in this update. But, you want to get in now because in one week, Assault Spy‘s Early Access price will increase from $19.99 to $24.99. At launch, the price of the game will be $29.99. Prices will increase respectively for other regions as well.

New Playable Character: Agent Amelia Hits the Dojo!

The game’s second playable character, Amelia, is now available to try out in Dojo Mode! Where Asaru’s playstyle involves high-speed dashing and well-timed moves, Amelia is an aggressive brawler ready to KO anyone that gets in her way. (Pretty OP, if you ask me…) Practice her moves now so you’re ready to hit the ground once the full game launches!

New Mode: Death March

Death March is a mode where you fight your way through floor after floor of enemies as a timer ticks downwards.. You gain more time for each enemy you defeat, and the higher your battle rank, the more extra time you’ll get! There are no checkpoints, so if you get a Game Over or run out of time, you’ll start over from the beginning. Smash your way through battle after battle as fast and as stylishly as you can!

New Gameplay Feature: Guard Break

A new Guard meter has been added to bosses and certain tough enemies. Now, hitting these enemies from the front enough times will break their Guard, allowing you to go to town on them with your deadliest combos! However, take note that their Guard meter will regenerate shortly afterwards, so act fast!
