The Mage Class Makes its Mystical Debut in Book of Demons

Book of Demons, Thing Trunk’s unique deck-building hack & slash, today receives its second and most eagerly anticipated class: the powerful spell-slinging Mage. Card games dont usually catch my interest, so when Book of Demons showed up in to my inbox I was skeptical. However to call Book of Demons a card game is not really fair. Well it is a game that uses cards, its not about trading or battling them. Instead the cards are how you interact with the world and attack and defend. Ill let this video tell you more

With today’s update, players can collect and combine 16 new class cards to overcome papercraft like adversaries using the Mage’s spell-focused play style. A fragile unit with high damage output and the power to summon minions, the Mage differs quite significantly from the Warrior class and will require players to experiment with new card synergies and combinations to conquer the most difficult dungeons.

Gameplay

This is one of those games that really surprised me. The pretty paper craft like art style made me think this would be a basic RPG style game with no real flair. Instead when I down loaded the free demo (yes theres a demo!) I found myself enjoying the diablo-esq combat and environments.

Book of Demons launched on Steam Early Access in July to very positive Steam reviews and has already earned several awards including Best Game Art at Casual Connect 2016 in Tel Aviv. The third and final class is set to release early 2017.

More information about the update is available on the Thing Trunk development blog. Download a free demo of Book of Demons or purchase the game at a 30% discount on Steam this week.
